Magnotta Winery Marks its 25th Anniversary with Year-Long Celebration to Thank Customers

VAUGHAN, ONTARIO, December 8, 2015 – Twenty-five years ago co-founders Gabe and Rossana Magnotta opened their first retail store in Vaughan and set off on a new path to produce wines and sell them directly to consumers.

They wanted to be a better way to buy wine, offering the best value and selection without compromising on quality. Hoping wine lovers would give them a try, they sold their products for significantly less than comparable wines and the LCBO. It worked and made the company the iconic winery and success story it is today. Magnotta is now a major Canadian wine producer.

Lyme Disease Cases Rising in Ontario but Health Officials
not Spreading Public Awareness

VAUGHAN, ONTARIO, May 18, 2010 – With the U.S. reporting soaring cases of Lyme disease in states loated close to the Canadian border, Ontario health officials are finally beginning to acknowledge more of this tick-borne disease, recently reporting 102 cases in Ontario alone in 2008, versus Health Canada's previous estimate of only 50 cases across Canada. But with misdiagnosis rampant due to poor testing, lack of understanding of the disease and how it mimics other major illnesses as well as complacency when it comes to spreading awareness, the number of Lyme cases in Ontario is feared to be much higher. The result: Lyme patients are falling through the cracks, lives are being ruined and the general public is in the dark.

VAUGHAN, ONTARIO, May 12, 2009 – Lyme disease is the fastest growing infectious disease in the world but the Canadian government won’t acknowledge this fact because it lacks proper understanding of the disease, continues to provide Canadians with poor testing methods and operates on the belief that the disease is rare in this country.
